Episode 8 — “Steeplechase Part IV”
Hmm.
Tatsuya does BAMF things as Shiba the Destroyer. That’s all this
Mahouka episode is about. Military hardliners: take note. Mahesvara’s
handlers can point him at you, too.
Heh.
Oops. What is a soldier in a MOVAL combat suit doing in the Steeplechase
course when the parasite dolls are also there? Oh, the same thing as
another faction in the military. Experimentation is proper for all
parties. Right? Don’t kill the guy in the suit! As if they could. Uh oh.
Tatsuya discovered the parasite loyalty program would fail, as Master
Yakumo already knew. See the
last Mahouka episode
for details. But BAMF will BAMF.
The combat gynoids are tough, but Tatsuya’s rewind “healing” and superior
abilities make quick work of the sixteen parasite dolls. The last ones
belong to the Prime Four, the elites. They have advanced teamwork, but
Pixie can overhear their conversations. We saw one’s
tomboy face
a few episodes ago, so (obviously) she would be the last opponent.
Miyuki wins! Tatsuya ought to reward her with headpats. That’s the
traditional Mahouka prize. Kudou is happy his parasite dolls made
Mahesvara “struggle” because it will make the military observers think
twice about recruiting more magicians. That’s not how I saw it. Ha! The
Yotsuba family warned Kudou to avoid the Nine Magic Schools while the
Shiba siblings are in high school. Also, he should let patriotic magicians
into the military if they want to. Last, don’t piss off “him.” Kudou knows
whom Saeki refers to.
Party time! The Kuroba twins have fans among their classmates.
Epilogue for Mahouka. The Kuroba clan’s clandestine forces have trouble
capturing that Chinese guy, Zhou Gongjin. Papa Kuroba hates the idea of using
Tatsuya’s abilities for one man. Ouch. Kuroba lost an arm!
Mahouka enters the next story arc.
