Kanon thought she got over her performance anxiety in the previous episode, but she was wrong. Chisato and Keke tried other things to stop Kanon from getting nervous in front of people. Taking over Chisato's takoyaki stand didn't help, but Keke enjoyed the fried food, and Chisato got a break from work. Putting Kanon in cute clothes almost worked, but then the two girls started taking gravure model shots. There was still no singing involved.
Keke is an optimistic girl, so she kept preparing for the school idol show as if Kanon was absolutely going to sing on stage with her. The poster was not that great, but the light blades for the crowd proved essential for success.
Keke found out that her favorite idol group was going to perform at the idol festival too. She was so excited! The duo of Sunny Passion, made up of the serene Mao and chipper Yuuna, was why Keke came to Japan to go to high school. Then Keke realized she and Kanon couldn't win the top prize if Sunny Passion would be attending!
Kanon still couldn't sing, but Keke encouraged her that she could pick up her singing parts. Just before a nervous disaster happened on stage, the power went out! Sumire tripped over a power cable. This was a genuine disaster forming. But then Keke's plan of handing out the light blades put the audience on Kanon and Keke's side. Kanon realized that she could sing because she wasn't alone! Boom! Light show!
Love Live is all about school idols singing for each other and together. Kanon and Keke had fun! They kicked ass! Chisato, Sumire, and Ren enjoyed their performance so much, they looked like they wanted to sign up right there.
Sunny Passion enjoyed Kanon and Keke's performance too. Unsurprisingly, the professional idols won the idol festival. However, KuuKaa won the best newcomer prize. Is that enough to keep their school idol club going? We'll find out next time.
