Cid ran into Alexia at a hot spring, scandalizing the young princess. Cid ignored her naked body as Alexia recounted the political problems with the Church and an annual fighting tournament. Alexia couldn't ignore Cid's naked body because, wow! Cid's talk of unsheathing swords and entering gardens of chaos made Alexia want to snap her towel too.
Of course, Rose invited Cid to that annual tournament. Rose was a guest of honor as a royal family member, sitting next to Alexia and a famous author. That renowned author was Beta! Her alias is Natsume Kafka, and her books all plagiarize the stories Cid told her from his world. Alexia and Beta have grudges against each other for unspoken reasons. Alexia doesn't like Natsume's big boobs, and Beta hates Alexia for receiving Cid's fake love confession.
Rose, who had fallen head over heels for the background character, Cid, put him into the tournament without his knowledge. Cid quickly needed to decide how to handle the callout. He couldn't show up to the arena and have his magic power release a mighty spirit warrior that would reveal his hidden talents. He also couldn't run away because his sister Claire would beat him up. Third option: put on a show for Shadow Garden!
Shadow's presence summoned Aurora, the Witch of Calamity. Beta knew who the villain was, but the cleric told the VIPs that only a few in the Church heard the name of the woman who almost destroyed the world. That kind of ghost proved the power Shadow had. Both Aurora and Shadow treated their fight like a dance. Unfortunately, Shadow recognized that Aurora's power was shackled, and he couldn't fight her at full strength. Shadow defeated the Witch of Calamity with one strike.
With Shadow Garden agents placed all over the city, Delta and Alpha had front-row seats for the next act. Which mighty ghost would their assembled power summon?
