We had a nice origin story for Otto and how he talks to animals. He did his utmost to waste Garfiel's time, but the main event was obviously Ram. How did she justify doing anything for the worthless "Barusu?" She claims he has the best timing, and if he asks you to do something at a certain time, you better do it! Ram packs a huge punch, obviously, since she's half ogre, but she also has an advantage against Garfiel because he has a huge crush on her. Who gets crushed first in this forest throw down?
So why did Otto and Ram need to slow down Garfiel? Because Subaru needed to have his absolute best love confession for the heroine of the story, Emilia. He got a kiss and saw his reflection in her eyes, so I'd call that success. Even better, she got a huge blast of external confidence from someone who believes in her because of who she is, not what she can do. Let's see what Emilia can do with her own powers without hoping Puck and Subaru will come to her rescue.
