Subaru and Emilia came home to find a maid with a unique smile.
Emilia and Subaru arrived home to find Ram and Roswaal missing, a blonde maid named Frederica with sharp teeth in their place, and a new quest to locate them at "the Sanctuary." Beatrice was more standoffish than usual after hearing Subaru killed Betelgeuse. Petra the village girl joined Frederica, who used to work at the mansion, while Emilia and Subaru departed to the Sanctuary.
Emilia felt nervous as they traveled into the forest, especially since Puck was reluctant to appear. At a certain point on the journey, a jewel which acts as a key for Sanctuary glowed brightly, and Subaru opened his eyes to a strange land, a strange elf who led him to some ruins, and Echidna the Witch of Greed sitting at some patio furniture. Mysterious!
