Tour Tidbit du Jour - 7/15/2019

Tour de France 2019 - 7/15/2019 - Stage 10 - Saint-Flour / Albi (217.5Km) - Wout van Aert (TEAM JUMBO - VISMA) - Winner Stage 10 © A.S.O./Pauline BALLET

Because Monday is a government holiday celebrating Bastille Day, which was on Sunday, the Tour held a stage and pushed the first rest day to Tuesday, instead of the usual Monday after the first week of racing. This means the riders have faced 10 consecutive days of racing, which is even longer than the 9 stages of the Tour de Suisse, and the Tour is almost half over with 10 of its 21 stages already finished. Also, there have been 10 different stage winners, making this the longest into the Tour without a repeat winner since 2002.
