Episode 14 - "Valentine's and then hot springs! (Please don't get your hopes up)"
Heh.
The dragons, being foreigners to Japanese culture, go through their first Valentine's Day, but each one put their own personal perspective on it. Chocolate, of course, played a big part, but there were also the feelings behind them.
In the second half, we got to see how much the strange extended family of dragons has affected Takiya. He calls it his "community," and it's something that even Fafnir can accept, within his boundary of "whimsy." Takiya, and the audience, knows Fafnir isn't being that honest with himself.
Love and Chocolate!
Touru wants to put love potion in Kobayashi's chocolate. This will not end well.
Nice villain laugh there, Touru.
Kobayashi is instantly suspicious of Touru's homemade chocolate. Maybe she just thinks Touru put her tail meat in there? Whatever she suspects, it's a worthy instinct.
Trust is lost forever, Touru, and can only be gained anew, not recovered. That lesson stuck.
Shouta may think Lucoa is a succubus instead of a dragon, but he still sees right through her intentions. Of course she's going to cover herself in chocolate!
Harsh! Riko got friend zoned! Kanna made it up to her by sucking on her finger...
Elma is still always hungry. Maybe she'll get competent at office work so she can get a big haul of chocolate like Kobayashi.
Interesting. The love potion didn't work on Kanna. And it started to work on Kobayashi, but thankfully the brandy got her drunk enough to start railing on maid outfits instead of ravishing Touru. Liquor saved the day!
Elma's attempt at making chocolate turned out as well as she expected.
Philosophy and Hot Springs!
I liked how the title card told me not to get my hopes up for the onsen part of the episode. We got plenty of fanservice from the dragons before, so I guess we'll have to be happy about that.
A train ride is all about train snacks!
Touru has a long way to go to master Japanese hospitality.
What better way to explain how dragons have such nice bodies and beautiful faces in human form than Plato's Idea and while soaking naked in a hot spring. Well, I tried to pay attention...
Ha! Kobayashi likes Kanna the best because Flat is Justice! Neither Touru nor Riko liked that pronouncement.
I love how the adults just ignore Riko freaking out about touching Kanna in the background.
I don't think we got a proper Idea of what Kobayashi would look like as a dragon... Gao!
Haha! Elma just wants ice cream.
Onsen Traditions
Drinking milk, playing table tennis, and catching peeks at the ladies - these are the staples of the onsen episode! Plus the otakus bringing game consoles, I guess.
Kobayashi stopped Lucoa from turning a table tennis game into a lewd table dance. Stingy!
Kobayashi offered her hand first. Aww!
Kobayashi and Touru brought the whole episode back to the theme of showing love and affection. Like Fafnir, Kobayashi is slowly growing more demonstrative of how much Touru means to her. Just a bit of movement and character growth is enough for Touru and the audience.
