Yuudachi becomes available for an upgrade, but trouble back at the Naval Base leads to a change in strategy.

Heh.

I've never played the game, so I can only guess that Yuudachi glowing so brightly is a nod to the game mechanics that a ship has enough experience or what-not and is ready for an upgrade. Yuudachi Kai get!

 

So many things better left secret in the dark bowels of the factory...

 

Aw. Even though Yuudachi has a fiercer personality after the upgrade, she still throws in a "poi" for her speaking habits. Just not as many.

 

The eye catch is all about the soul of a torpedo girl.

The younger ships had never seen this glowing business before. They even worried Yuudachi was about to explode from eating bad fuel!

How rude!

 

It looks like Yuudachi has all sorts of new equipment, but her uniform is different too, not just bigger.

And Yuudachi definitely needed a bigger uniform. No, not just up top. Look at what happened to her legs!

Obviously lots of changes going on for our "poi!" girl. Like the good fleet girl that became worthy of an upgrade, Yuudachi immediately set out to practice with her new armaments and equipment.

Fubuki had her chance to shine too. She got some extra praise from Akagi for working hard as a flagship and she too would soon be put in for an upgrade.

Unfortunately, Fubuki suffered a crisis of confidence soon after because the Admiral sent orders to disband her group and recall her back to base. No wonder she cried in Kongou's arms. But her disappointment was totally unfounded because the real reason all this reorganization was happening was the Abbysal fleet was taking advantage of the stretched out borders of the territory the Navy was controlling.

Old yellow one-eye is back, and it looks like she got an upgrade too!

Hmm.

Being a girl is tough work, right Fubuki? Going from the heights of manic pleasure to the depths of despair in less than 10 minutes is a real emotional rollercoaster. But she got sorted out.

 

It looks like we're back to some real plot again as the Abyssals snuck through the thin patrol lines, demolished the Naval central command, and the Admiral is missing. How will Kongou unleash her burning love now? Oh, right. She'll fire her big guns at those Abyssal girls for messing with her man!
