Koufuku Graffiti - Episode 9
It's New Year's Eve and the Gourmet Girls spend time celebrating the best way - eating, and drinking, together!
Heh.
Ryou is such a good girl. Doing all the house cleaning before Kirin even shows up. She'll make a fantastic housewife...
Aw nertz. I guess we're allowed only one bath episode this season. They had the perfect cue for another one when Ryou needed to find one more thing to clean and it was herself. Ah well, there's always the OVA's.
If Shiina starred in her own anime, it wouldn't be in the cute girls do cute things genre. She would definitely be in the Mysterious Girlfriend genre. She keeps making those sidelong glances and saying ominous things about her house over the holidays. What's going on over there, Shiina?

Don't ask, Ryou! Whatever you do, don't ask Shiina about the danger at her house!
Shiina's a big ole flirt too. Goosing Ryou's ear from behind like that. We've discovered another one of Ryou's weak spots!
Unfortunately, we only had Ryou to bring us the foodgasm scenes. I thought for sure Kirin was going to give us some sparkly reactions, but she didn't. Is it because she had the oden last year when they first met? Well, we've seen Ryou carry those foodgasm scenes all by herself before. She readies herself.
And we have liftoff!
Hey, did you know this was SHAFT show? Let me remind you again.
It's been almost a whole year since Kirin started coming to Ryou's place on the weekends. She's grown in some ways, like learning to cook. But she hasn't in other ways, like washing the dishes or dealing with grownups. She made a New Year's Resolution not to freak out around adults.
Well, that was all talk as soon as Aunt Akira showed up. Kirin's shyness grew back since last March, she guessed. Also, the old neighbor ladies passing out the sweet sake got a taste of her samurai politeness. But then she drank some liquid courage.
What is it with SHAFT making lolis get drunk on sake all the time? Okay, not ALL the time, but enough so you'd notice.
Ah, sweet, beautiful drunk talk. Now sweet sake is not supposed to be alcoholic, but when a major anime convention is little girls getting drunk on cola, well, maybe Kirin should carry a flask of this stuff to handle the surprise encounter with a random adult.
Hmm.
It's the new year now, so it was a great way to make the girls reminisce about their year together. Ryou's aunt said it best when she noticed that Ryou not even sounding lonely made HER feel lonely. It's been a good year for Ryou, and for Kirin and Shiina too.
With the new year the girls will also have to start thinking about the future, and that means choosing a new school. Will Kirin find a way to go to the same school as Ryou in Tokyo? If so, I smell sequel!
We're getting to the end of the season too and that means tying up loose ends. Like the downstairs neighbor, whom we got her name in the first episode, but we've never spent anytime with her character. The lady who spends too much time ordering delivery needs a home-cooked meal already. I hope to see that soon too.
