The combined forces of both worlds help free Aura, but Embryo has more surprises in store for them.

Heh.

Lots of action battle action sequences, but there was still time for certain rivals to share their feelings while shooting at each other. That's anime for you.

 

Embryo - "Nooo! Ange is mai waifu!"

Tusk - "Tapped dat ass."

Embryo - "Arrggh!"

 

I had to laugh at this exchange, first because it was disrespectful towards women and Ange would have given Tusk two black eyes if she heard it, but second, it was exactly how men talk to each other anyway, and third, Tusk claiming to know how many moles are on Ange's inner thigh didn't have to mean they'd been intimate. Crotch Ange was enough for Tusk to figure that out.

 

Finally the dragons crossed over to help out. Leave it to that big gravity dude to have the solution for those killer roombas.

I was pretty bored with the Salia and Alektra exchange. Salia hadn't accepted that she was just being used and wouldn't accept what Alektra told her about her own seduction by Embryo. At least Chris figured that out after he transported all his Ragna-Mail pilots in the middle of the dragon storm to slow them down a little.

 

Yay! Chris and Rosalie made up.

Nothing like a life and death situation to focus the mind and feelings on the important things. Hilda saved them both, but her heart still belongs to Ange.

 

Salamandine freed Aura, who's their mother thank you for clearing that up, but the worlds were still combining. Why? ...Embryo's stream of bullshit... Ah fine, whatever you say anime logic, it's a chain reaction or cascade effect, but the important thing is that your little plan didn't work and Aura might blow up right before merging is complete. Way to ratchet up the tension.

 

That Embryo guy always seems to have one more card up his sleeve. Alektra thought she had the right plan, freezing him solid so he's contained and can't kill himself, but the real body just remote controlled that Ragna-Mail. What a sneaky bastard.

 

We still had time for some light moments thanks to Momoka. After just watching Koufuku Graffiti, handing out onigiri was just a bit more relevant.

Even better, the scenes had moved around to cover the rest of the battle, then we come back to the bridge and even the quartermaster had a rice ball in her hand as she piloted the Aurora.

 

Plug suits are okay for fanservice, but they're designed that way. What we need is an honest to goodness panty flash for genuine exploitative fanservice.

There it is. As expected from Cross Ange and Momoka.

 

 

Hmm.

According to the preview, next episode is the finale, and we still have some threads to wrap up in addition to dealing with the cliffhangers. Aura might blow up, taking everyone with her before the final merge and Embryo vanished with Ange, even leaving behind her ring, which means no way of summoning Vilkiss. Or does it? Ange is naked again with Embryo, in the place with his real body, I presume, so we might have a full explanation of what and who he is.

 

The other threads to wrap up are what happens to Salia and whether the two worlds merge after all. I see a chance for a single world with all our favorite character all living happily together ever after. I'm looking forward to seeing if I'm right. But please, one more Crotch Ange joke. That's my "happily ever after" for this show.
