The Fable, the title the criminal underground has given to a legendary professional hitman, uses a signature Nighthawk Custom handgun body for his jobs. He routinely switches out the barrels because the author of the manga still believes forensic science supports the debunked idea that non-rifling guns leave signatures on bullet casings.
The Fable mixes hardboiled genres of yakuza tales and hitmen with character-based comedies. I see it as Golgo 13 mashed up with The Way of the Househusband (Gokushufudou) into a Japanese version of Lilyhammer and Tulsa King. The Fable needs to lie low in Osaka for a year after a particularly messy job. But can he keep his cover as his assistant's brother when he can kill people in six seconds as a reflex? He has doubts, and so does Youko Satou, the alias for "GPS Girl."
The violent gangster comedy has funny moments in the opening credits. The Fable and "Youko" might face their most trying challenges not getting into trouble with the local gangs and police in Osaka.
