Something is wrong with Ren! She's tired, can't concentrate, and makes strange mumbling sounds as she gestures with her hands. Is it her role as student body president overworking her? No! She became addicted to video games! It was a recurring joke in the first season how sheltered Ren was from current media technology. Playing a video game at Keke's house was a mistake for her addictive personality. Add a guilty, absent father showering her with classic video game consoles, and Ren has developed a problem. Her maid, Saya, looked like her dealer.
Mei discovered Ren's secret problem first. Ren recruited Mei into locking up her gaming room as Ren worked on writing music, but their counseling sessions brought unwanted attention. The other girls of Liella thought Ren and Mei were grasping the yuri flower stem together! Shiki suffered most of all, but all the girls at the all-girls school experienced brain freeze from the idea of sapphic love.
Ren's gaming problem wasn't as severe as everyone thought. She just needed to get past one level in one game. The solution, of course, was to play with friends. Having a party handle a chapter boss is the epitome of the power of friendship and teamwork. Ren scratched her itch, wrote song music, and Liella was on their way for the Love Live contest. The end card shows our Superstar Gamer Girl in action.
