Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru - Episode 4 - 10 Second Anime

Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru - Episode 4
Gojou feels the weight of all his responsibilities when he tries to assemble Marin’s costume within two weeks.

Episode 4 – “Are These Your Girlfriend’s?”

Hmm.

The plot for this episode of My Dress-Up Darling felt like a psychology experiment. How much stress can we pile onto Gojou before he breaks? He’s already slow at making clothes for dolls, but now he needs to make a complicated one for a life-sized doll. As if that wasn’t bad enough, his grandfather hurts himself, the school is in the middle of midterms, and Gojou needs to cater to Hina doll customers. Gojou even put more stress on himself because he thought Marin gave him a deadline.

The character development in My Dress-Up Darling of the socially awkward Gojou and the outgoing Marin made for credible drama. Gojou cemented his nice-guy character by feeling relief instead of anger. Imagine barely sleeping for two weeks to deal with a health emergency, running a family business, studying for midterms, and making an adult-sized dress for the first time. Then you hear, “Oops, I didn’t mean you needed the costume ready in two weeks.” I’m glad Marin cried for Gojou’s sake. I shed manly tears at that scene. “Manly,” I said!

Heh.

Aw. Grandpa Gojou is happy that Gojou-kun spent time with a “friend.” Uh oh. You can see Grandpa’s mental math when he combined seeing Gojou’s stockings with how he played an h-game. I’m not saying the math added up, but he made an equation. That equation put him on his butt! Ouch. That could easily be a broken hip or pelvis.

Oof. Straight to the hospital. There’s more drama piling up in My Dress-Up Darling. Ooh. Gojou has a cousin. Facial moles are a family trait. She’s older, so the uncle must be the older brother of one of his dead parents. It’s good to know that he has more family than his grandpa. Grandpa Gojou wants his brushes while he recuperates at the cousin’s house. He’s an artisan, so he needs to keep his inking and painting skills up.

Aw. Marin worried about Gojou. He missed school because of his grandpa’s hospital visit. Marin is already in girlfriend mode. She’ll cook, clean, and “stuff” for Gojou. He needs to take her offer! Because he took on a two-week deadline that she didn’t give him! Spending time together will make that misunderstanding go away. Of course, that’s too easy for My Dress-Up Darling. At least he could text her progress reports... Crap! Now there are midterms on top of Gojou’s worry pile! Plus, does he need to manage the shop for tours? That’s proof of how famous the Gojou Hina Dolls are. Yeesh. Gojou puts too much pressure on himself. That’s the kind of guy he is.

It’s not Marin’s fault, but she’s already had experience chasing Gojou down for avoiding her. Gojou is a high-maintenance friend. Dude, has anyone ever ghosted Marin before? She even brought him a beef bowl! These scenes in My Dress-Up Darling make me love Marin more. Deservedly so! Ack. What a mess. Gojou is in pure death march mode. He knew Grandpa needed his brushes to practice painting doll faces, but he’s been neglecting his own drills. Still, the priority should be on Marin’s outfit since she’s his Sugar Mommy. Push through that moment of self-doubt, Gojou-kun! Do the hard job for the customers’ smiles. Do it for Marin’s smile!

Wow. Gojou made his self-imposed deadline. He needs sleep. Marin can’t believe he finished the costume. It looks incredible! Ah. Here comes the resolution of the My Dress-Up Darling plotline. Marin didn’t intend to enter the cosplay event in two weeks. She mentioned it to illustrate how often these things occur. Gojou collapsed in relief. Marin is such a kind girl! She’s crying for him. My eyes also sprang a leak for some reason... Please, you crazy kids, talk to each other more often.

Well, since the dress is right there, let’s try it on! Yes. Yes! Gojou knows how to handle long hair. He’s the perfect Instagram boyfriend! He even has false eyelashes for her. My Dress-Up Darling shows how to use makeup tutorials for your real-life doll. There’s the episode title! Is Marin his Gyaru Hina Doll? Aw. Gojou genuinely smiled for Marin. Pew, pew, pew heartfelt! That’s the moment Marin fell in love with her dollmaker. Whoa. Marin is fearless. Bye, bye eyebrows! Gojou knows how to apply makeup as if he’s painting a Hina Doll’s face.

Here we go, here we go! Marin came prepared with maid-themed lingerie. She looks like Shizuku-tan! Ha. Gojou used “gal” slang to compliment her. So, what happens next? Do they go to the cosplay event? The previewed episode title about “the best boob bag here” hints at that.
