Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! - Episode 12 - 10 Second Anime

Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! - Episode 12
Jahy suspects a trap when she finds a mana crystal. Then she protects Kokoro from strangers and cops. Saurva sabotages herself again.

Restoration Plan No. 12 – “Kokoro-chan Will Not Betray?”

Hmm.

The Great Jahy shows why a comedy series relies on character development. This week, Jahy’s narcissism and paranoia combined to fuel the jokes in two of the sketches. Saurva’s penchant for poor luck sabotaged her plot to remove Jahy from Dark Realm leadership again. However, the episode presented more growth for both demons as they adapt to the human world.

For Jahy, her paranoia about the Magical Girl comes from her narcissism. Everyone, especially enemies, must be thinking about the Great Jahy all the time, right? Also, those enemies need to follow the same tactics Jahy imagines because those tactics are the best ones. Why? Because the Great Jahy thought of them! In the first sketch where Jahy found a random mana crystal on a manhole cover, she suspected the Magical Girl laid a trap for her. That thought calls back to a past episode when Jahy trapped herself in her room because she was sure the Magical Girl would come for her last mana shard. Jahy’s line of thinking is more comical when we remember that the Magical Girl has no history of using ruses, plotting tricks, or ambushing Jahy. In the Dark Realm, she flew right past Jahy’s throne room and destroyed the demonic crystal!

One part of Jahy’s paranoid delusions hinted at her growing concern and love of humans. She imagined the Magical Girl would destroy the whole town just to get the Great Jahy. That’s called projection. Jahy might have done a similar act in the past, which is why she thought of it. But note how angry she became at the thought of the town’s destruction hurting human residents. That concern for humans’ safety started with the Store Manager, and Jahy has extended this feeling to Kokoro. We saw Jahy fighting off strangers and luring the policemen away to keep Kokoro from danger. The comedy in that scene was that Kokoro never faced threats. This mimics how the Magical Girl never tried to trap Jahy in the first sketch, either. Jahy scared herself with her own imagination.

There’s much of that going around in The Great Jahy episode. Saurva’s comical traits are like Jahy’s when it comes to narcissism. Jahy doesn’t even know who Saurva is, so Saurva could just walk straight up to her and complete her attack. Saurva doesn’t need to be sneaky, but she believes she does. That’s the same with Jahy and the Magical Girl because the human destroyer of the Dark Realm doesn’t recognize the smaller Jahy. In fact, she only collects the crystals in the human world. She doesn’t attack demons. Likewise, Jahy wouldn’t attack Saurva unless she tried to hurt one of Jahy’s human friends.

Saurva followed the same path of growing to like humans that Jahy did. It always starts with the Store Manager. We should expect that. And then Saurva discovered the Landlady’s soft spots under her prickly exterior. That happened to Jahy too. Of course, it’s much easier for the Landlady to be kind to a small child in an oversized T-Shirt and a cute dog in the rain. Saurva might find herself in a wrestling maneuver if she interacted with the Landlady in her adult form.

Heh.

Hello there, red crystal. Meet Jahy. She likes your kind. Wait. It’s a trap! No, it’s not, but Jahy thinks it might be. We know the Magical Girl doesn’t sneak around for ambushes, but the Great Jahy used to in the Dark Realm. Jahy puts herself in a hole. It puts the lotion in the basket, or it gets the hose again... So, Jahy tries to avoid the pitfall trap, then she imagines the possibility of an explosive booby trap. Uh, the Magical Girl does not want to blow up the city just to get you, Jahy. Eep! The Store Manager startled Jahy. Oh no. Jahy needs to protect the Store Manager from a fake explosion. And there was no blast. Of course not! But Jahy got a replacement mana crystal, so it worked out for her.

Next up on The Great Jahy, Kokoro shows herself to be the superior Tomarou. It’s funny how Kokoro takes Jahy to recreational places to look for red crystals and shards. This public park offers a premium package. According to the laws of foreshadowing, that tube slide and that wooden bridge will become essential. Aw. Jahy wants to make Kokoro smile. That flower with Kokoro is one of the scenes in the new opening credits. Identity crisis for Jahy. Can she allow herself to be friendly to a human?

Oh, she’ll do more than that. She’ll kick a nerd in the face to protect her heart! Ha! Hahaha! It’s the fuzz! Cheese it! It’s clear the police only started chasing Jahy because she started running away from them. Jahy is so egotistical that she thinks the police would harass another child like Kokoro too. Because that’s what police do. They bother dark-skinned beauties walking around in black straps and thigh-high boots. As I expected, Jahy used the premium park equipment to distract the cops long enough for Kokoro to “escape.” Back in the police box for Jahy.

The Great Jahy checks in with Magnificent Saurva. Let’s see how she sabotages her plot against Jahy. Instead of making a potion for herself, she makes a potion for Jahy. Why make Jahy a precious Shiba Inu? Why not? And she drank it. Quicker failure than last time. Oh, look. Her dog form looks like it’s wearing a cape with buttons. Hilarious. Saurva can’t avoid her doggy nature. Run outside! Ha! Retribution! She gave that white dog what-for.

Here we go. The Great Jahy loves the local animals. Is this her way of collecting a new minion army? Saurva can’t fight her doggy nature. Playing with Jahy feels good! How can Saurva reconcile her conflicting feelings? Worse yet, the rain comes, and she needs to deal with the scary Landlady. Neither Jahy nor Saurva realizes that other people never recognize them, but this is comedy genre, not cloak and dagger. It’s a nice comedic payoff, with Saurva becoming another neighborhood pervert.

Aw. The omake is cute, with Jahy trying to make a friendly gesture for Kokoro. But she succumbs to her proud nature to beat the crane game. Rotten luck paid off for her this time!

Next time, Druj will definitely show us more pouts.
