The second episode gave us the official opening credits and theme. Obviously, it's spoiler rich because we see Ren and Chisato in regular program uniforms and joining Kanon and Keke's school idol club.
Kanon was so happy that she found a way to sing in public. Her mother and little sister didn't know what to make of this sudden change in attitude.
In contrast to Kanon's upbeat mood, Keke was totally demoralized. Ren had rejected her school idol club application. Keke was so angry, she wanted to transfer to another school and take Kanon with her!
The school director rejected Ren's rejection because the music program had no authority over regular students' activities. However, because the music program's reputation was at stake from such a public-facing club, the director gave the school idol club a probationary period and an assignment. Kanon and Keke needed to win the local idol festival or face disbandment. High stakes! Chisato will help them get in shape for their dance moves.
Meanwhile, Sumire, who refused to join the school idol club last episode, appears to be trying to get a modeling scout's attention. She might get more attention by joining a school idol unit...
Keke wrote lyrics for a song, so Kanon needed to write the music for it. After an all-nighter, Kanon felt it was ready. Can she sing another song in public?
The ending theme played over the end credits sure sounds like the song Keke and Kanon wrote. I'm getting novel Love Live vibes from these girls singing and dancing together. Photobombs and housepets as alpacas certainly help too.
