Hmm.

Mahouka made me think of Japan’s famous Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. When Angelina saw Tatsuya and Miyuki combine their powers to defeat the parasites in one strong attack, she recognized the technique as lunar magic. Kaguya, the Moon Princess, upon returning to the Moon after living on Earth and falling in love with the Emperor of Japan, left him an elixir of immortality. The Emperor, not wanting to live forever without his beloved Kaguya, destroyed the elixir, leaving her alone back on the Moon.

One interpretation of Kaguya offering immortality to the Emperor was an invitation for him to find a way to reunite with her and live forever in love afterwards. That didn’t happen in the folktale, but what if Tatsuya and Miyuki are the Mahouka versions of the legendary couple? Tatsuya is clearly immortal, but not omnipotent. Miyuki’s strong ice magic is lunar in nature and strongest when paired with her brother. Did the Yotsuba clan try to recreate the most powerful magical beings in Japanese folklore but don’t know they succeeded? Tatsuya and Miyuki’s desire to break from the duties of their powerful magical clan connects to Kaguya’s invitation to the Emperor to escape the Earth and fly to the Moon. It’s a romantic wish in the literary sense too, not just in Miyuki’s taboo desire for her awesome onii-sama.

Angelina is still going to school when her cover is in a compromised state. Okay. She’s sad that she can’t be Tatsuya’s friend anymore.

Tatsuya’s Scooby gang is still searching for the other parasites on their own. Look at Mikihiko’s high tech portable shrine. Angie Sirius has her team tracking these possessed targets somehow too. Angelina’s confidence took a hit when she lost to both Shiba siblings. Tatsuya’s Scooby gang has great teamwork and tactics to seal the “demons.” All Angie Sirius does is free the parasite from its host because her mission is to kill the deserters. Ha. Erika can tell its Angelina underneath her disguise through her mannerisms.

Oops. There are other people playing around in the forest besides Tatsuya and the Stars. Section 3 again. The martial arts kids will have some fun. Angie Sirius still insists on killing the parasite hosts. Pixie appears to be bait for the freed parasites. They want her to return to them. Won’t happen for lovestruck Pixie Parasite. Angelina flails against the hydra parasite. Mikihiko can make a fire hydra to distract it for a few seconds. Shiba wincest twin powers activate!

I don’t know what’s going on here, but Miyuki can see the world of information that Tatsuya always sees. Using Tatsuya to aim at multiple targets, Miyuki can simultaneously freeze the whole parasite hydra. What Angelina saw Tatsuya and Miyuki do is the true power that the Shiba siblings seek to hide from even their own Yotsuba clan. Tatsuya offers to help Angelina if she ever stops being a soldier.

Ayako is present for some reason. That reason taking advantage of Virginia Balance to give Section 3 living samples of the blackhole “demons,” while taking one for the Yotsuba clan. Ayako took advantage of Tatsuya too, but we should expect that as membership in a clan. Miyuki gave Tatsuya approval for showing favor to another girl because he’s such a kind-hearted person. Sure, he is.
