Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - Raihousha Hen - Episode 9 - 10 Second Anime

Official and unofficial security forces interfere with Tatsuya’s capture of parasite hosts.

Visitor Arc IX

Hmm.

As we come toward the end of the Mahouka season, the main story needs to pull back and bring us into the wider focus geopolitically and temporally. The introduction of the Seven Sages as the Mahouka version of the Illuminati lets us see that many of the issues the magicians have faced, particularly Tatsuya, were part of games played between the Sages themselves.

Shiva the Destroyer now has an ally among the Sages when he had already made an enemy of another. The first season showed Tatsuya taking down an anti-magician group trying to dope their way into competing with them and removing a Chinese crime syndicate. Mahouka used these plotlines to significant effect in explaining the world these magic students would be entering. We’re now seeing how these large-scale human movements are only the pieces on the boardgame of the planet.

Mahouka hints at something truly scary for anyone who would want to hurt magicians – Tatsuya has the possibility of joining the Seven Sages. I see an even scarier effect of that. Tatsuya can reinstall save points for anything he personally backs up through his mental capacity. What if he has access to a copy of the entire world which the Seven Sages claim they have through a global monitoring system? Don’t piss off Shiva the Destroyer, because he can recreate the world as he sees fit if he could just handle the obscene amount of data. This may be the endgame for Tatsuya in the Mahouka universe, but we won’t see any of that this season. Only more hints in that direction.

Heh.

Foo. Tatsuya’s Scooby gang arrived late. Or right on time… Oh? Tatsuya notices Pixie’s and Honoka’s thighs. Good man. Ah. That’s indecent! Honoka proved that she connects to Pixie via the hair ornaments Tatsuya gave her. They’re the receptacle of strong feelings.

Uh oh. The Scooby gang will have work to do with these possessed policemen. These commandoes wear that anti-magic tactical gear. Americans again? Stealth zeppelin! Section Three did it. Har. The three kids are more scared of Tatsuya making an evil grin than fighting a government agency. Mayumi likes how sneaky Tatsuya can be. Welp, Section Three is working with the Americans, or looking the other way as they take back American bodies possessed by parasites. Some Tatsuya fanservice for the ladies…

Angelina is on the move again. Has she been attending school? Here we go. These Seven Sages start their games to include Shiva the Destroyer. Raymond Sage Clark… is the “Sage” in there like the Roman Catholic “Cardinal” title? Mahouka has their Illuminati conspiracy. Another of the Sages started the anti-magician movement in the United States. Tatsuya personally defeated two of that Sage’s underlings in the previous season. These Seven Sages control a backdoor into a global monitoring system, but they don’t always work together. Ha. Tatsuya likes this Clark guy’s romantic notions of magic leading humanity forward. Tatsuya doesn’t like his Shiva the Destroyer nickname.
