Illy the harpy didn't have any trauma from being abducted by slavers, but she was reluctant to see Dr. Glenn about her molting. After the usual squirming and squealing, Glenn pronounced her healthy but molting. Illy didn't want to hear she was fine when she didn't feel fine.
Illy made it a condition to meet with Tisalia if she let Dr. Glenn examine her. Illy declared she wanted to become a gladiator, but Tisalia perceived that was only an excuse to leave the village. Tisalia oh hohoho ojousama also pounded it into Illy that arena fighting was different than street fighting.
The main reason Dr. Cthulhy sent Glenn to the harpy village was for him to find on his own that Illy had a rare condition that had nothing to do with trauma, molting, or teenage angst. Glenn figured it out after examining how Illy's feathers had slightly changed colors.
Illy had phoenix blood in her and bad moment of molting into adult feathers meant she was going to display those rainbow colors the next time her new feathers came in. There might be something more to her need to change her identity since the phoenix is a symbol of rebirth, but for sure her hotheadedness matches the fiery phoenix.
