Asuna enters Underworld and reunites with Kirito while meeting Alice and the other Integrity Knights.
Episode 10 - "Stacia, the Goddess of Creation"
Hmm.
The long awaited reunion between Asuna and Kirito finally happened. It was touching, emotional, but it lacked the follow-through we needed from Asuna's side. She didn't heal his broken mind by saying the magic words of "I forgive you." Did this setting not have enough of an emotional impact for the audience? Do we have to wait until the stakes are higher for Kirito to wake up? The stakes are pretty high right now! I guess that Kirito will need more than Asuna around for him to become whole again. The power of friendship and harem dynamics for the win appears to be how SAO does things this late in the story. One plot twist we have to accept as gospel is that there's a mole within Rath and main nerd Higa is the number one suspect. Higa didn't lock down the superuser accounts for the Dark Territory side. "It's nothing," he said, making it look like an oversight, but was it really? There's also shenanigans about Code 871 on the Rath side, which is maybe why it took so long for these souls to rebel against Quinella, basically not until the external element of Kirito got involved.
This points to Higa too, and it points to real sabotage for the whole fluctlight experiment. It's not a very good murderbot AI if it decides it doesn't like its orders, but the sabotage comes in exploding the eye when it develops its own conscience. Perhaps that "Seal of the Right Eye" also destroys the marker that Rath needed to find the individualized souls. I noticed that they never cared about Eugeo when he also exhibited Code 871. There's some inconsistencies here that the mole will inevitably brag about before he's written out of the story.
Meh.
The whole point of Asuna entering Underworld was to "forgive" Kirito so he could get his mind back, heal, and fight everybody. What does Asuna do instead? Stay up all night in a rom-com pajama party having girl talk with Kirito's in-game harem. What are you doing, Asuna? Did that "headache" from using Stacia's powers give you selective amnesia?Heh.
Asuna came in with the superuser account for Stacia. That will help. Oh, there's a balancing aspect of a headache. Finally! Back together again. Now forgive him, heal him, and let's get to fighting the bad guys. Oh… so Asuna just forgot what she had to do? This is no good.
The girls call the real world The Celestial Realm, where goddesses of creation, gods of the elements, and the angels live. Who are these "angels?"
Cat fight! Ha! Bercouli stops them with one hand. The music makes sure to tell us we've entered harem hijinks mode.
Eh? Asuna just told the Humans that the Dark Territory guys want to take Alice. Things are too straightforward in this show. Bercouli is pretty smart for an NPC. He figures Dark God Vecta is an outsider like Asuna.
Sheyta also is wise to breaking the rules. Alice's right eye broke, but then it healed. That's the difference between her and anyone else who saw System Alert Code 871.
Bercouli asks the right question: what do they want Alice to do if she can break rules on her own?
How convenient. Asuna can't do that world breaking thing more than a couple of times. She should be able to handle a headache or two.
Where did Asuna get this new outfit? Are they pajamas? Oh, Alice isn't going to allow any hanky nor panky with her Kirito. Pajama party with Ronie! And now Liena! "Dual-wielding Kirito." We need to see that happen again.
