The hyped match between Nozomi and Nagisa included a lot of strategy and emotional struggle instead of the power versus finesse game we were expecting.
We didn't see any of this screaming coach style of play during Nozomi's match against Riko, which again speaks to the low skill in dramatic build-up for this show, but it was all to force Nagisa to tire her fatigued knee faster and score cheap points.
The match turned on Nagisa receiving a tip from Kentarou on using her power game to short circuit the rallies and force Nozomi into following Nagisa's quicker pace.
Nozomi didn't like the style of play her coach was forcing on her, so after some encouragement from her former schoolmate, she rebelled and started playing her own game again.
Nozomi and Nagisa had fun, but then Nagisa easily took over the third game and won the match. It turned out the coach wasn't such a bad guy after all, but he should be apologizing to Nozomi instead of admitting it to Kentarou.
Meanwhile, Ayano has turned into the villain of the show, her mother's visit to the court has never been mentioned again, and Connie got onto the wrong train after promising to see Ayano again. At least the cute girls look good when they're having fun playing badminton and not dealing with melodrama.
