Diablo showed Edelgard and the Fallen Horde what a true Demon Lord can do.
When last we saw Edelgard, she was rushing to attack Diablo. He measured her class level and decided to see if he could actually take damage from her best shot and see what it felt like in this world. He felt a little bit of damage, just a little.
Diablo got word that a Fallen had actually breached the city, so he didn't have time to mess around with the demons any more. As you saw above, he got a little bit serious and wiped out the Fallen Horde. He was surprised to see Edelgard survived, but she'd have to if she wants to join the True Demon Lord's side.
Diablo arrived back at the city just in time. He found out teleportation spells actually work in this hardcore survival mode version of his game, so his return spell is probably something that can only be used once a day. His reward for using up so much MP was affection from two slave girls. Not bad, not bad.
While the city rebuilt, Diablo also regained his lost MP and stamina. This was just enough time for the girls to get bored and start bothering him to go on another quest. Shela borrowed an outfit from Sylvie, which barely fit, to "perk" him up. Something "perked" up, I'm sure, which Rem did not like at all. Nice wrestling ring for the drop kick!
