Hinata saw the fake friends who caused her to graduate early and she just had to take her rage out on a snow bank.

Shirase was preoccupied with how Hinata was hiding how mad she was at seeing her fake high school friends again, but that wasn't enough to distract her from being serious about mahjong.

Hinata literally escaped to Antarctica to get away from her bitter feelings before going to college. What mattered though, was that she made great friends to share her journey, and to be the jerks for her against those terrible former friends. Good for them, and good for Hinata.
