Winter 2018 Anime Preview Notes

10 Second Anime

Continuing Series

Definitely Watching

The Winter 2018 anime season brings us a bunch of sequels, some series coming back to continue their stories, and a smattering of shows trying to cash in on a popular trend. Due to my own personal tastes and blog history, my slots for 10 Second Anime filled up quick with Yowamushi Pedal and Dagashi Kashi. Violet Evergarden is a Kyoto Animation production, which automatically gets its slot. Dagashi Kashi is only 15 minutes this time around, but I'm hoping that means it's much more efficient with Hotaru's sexy crazy candy mania.

A few shows are glomming on to that gourmet anime comedy genre, such as Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san and Takunomi. As long as there are cute girls having foodgasms or getting drunk, I'm going to be watching that. Yuru CampΔ is following the recent trend of scenery porn travelogues, but again, cute girls make everything even more interesting.

There's even more magical fantasy shounen sequels. I never expected Overlord to actually get a sequel, because the first one ended on a weird note due to the adapted story not fitting very well into a 12 episode block. I'm excited to see more Nanatsu, but I'm looking forward to Fate even more. Nero is going to be making her anime costarring debut and I can't wait for the "umu, umu" to intensify.

The other Nanatsu show gets a short form spin-off by showing us the angel girls Lucifer left. I expect a lot of trashy lesbianism to be packed into 5 minutes or less.

There are a bunch of other shows that look interesting, but I'll have to give them an actual look first to see if they'll make the cut into the watch list. Pay attention to that page for changes and additions.
