Greg Henderson signs in at the start of Stage 20.
The sign-in is a fun thing that happens before the Neutral Start, but it does have an official purpose of registering the riders for that day's stage. In years past, the riders would sign in on a transparent plastic board so the crowd could see them, but they would still have to sign the official race ledger. This year at the Tour, both show and official business are done by tapping a large touch screen which automatically applies that rider's signature and makes an official entry into the digital records.
