10 Second Anime - Shokugeki no Soma S2 - Episode 4

Mimasaka takes on Takumi in a shokugeki by imitating his style and ingredients.

Episode 4 - "The Pursuer"

Heh.

This has been the most uninteresting episode of Shokugeki I've ever seen. I'm glad it was over quickly and the real story was addressed in the epilogue.

Much fun was made about calling Mimasaka the King of Stalkers.

I don't know why a skinless winged demon is supposed to be related to a stalker, but okay. Some kind of Night Stalker reference to vampires, perhaps?

Anyway, Takumi lost because Mimasaka added interesting twists to Takumi's recipe to make his taste better when compared to the original. I'm sure the new dessert would taste great on its own, but it was designed for the only purpose of highlighting the differences between the dishes on the judges' tongues.

Meh.

It's pretty obvious the best efforts are not being put into the series at this point. The artwork may be consistent with the first season, but there were many panning stills and they were even repeated a couple of times. It felt like a filler episode even though this was an important plot point to introduce a new villain and decide the final four in the Autumn Elections.

But at least some of those panning shots gave us loving views Erina's and Ikumi's thighs.

The epilogue featured Yukihira challenging Mimasaka in another shokugeki for all the cooking tools he won from the other students he stalked. Already Yukihira surprised Mimasaka by the scope of the terms of their contest instead of just Takumi's mezzaluna. I hope things will get more interesting soon, especially with a new panel of judges instead of a bunch of old men acting like little girls in their foodgasms.
