Episode 7 - "For Faith"
Heh.
This was a good episode! Hints of the past, the reasons for Akira's quest and the confirmation that the Gouverneur was a girl! Not only that, I think she just became my favorite character in the show.
The biggest spoiler alert is not that Akira was a girl, but that she had larger breasts than Torino!
Forget about all the sci-fi tech on the island. The biggest advance in technology was that bra making Akira's chest so small.
Akira's family being involved with all the tech surrounding the Armed Virus explains a lot about where everything on the island came from. Even her mother's idea for becoming a boy was a stroke of brilliance.
The girls call the castle "fäste." That's the Swedish word for "stronghold." So, we've got French, German and now Swedish words in this story.
That Suri Arm wasn't a girl, but an artificial Arm. This is all great stuff.
Look at how strong Akira's Liberator Drive is!
Just looking at her made Mamori plotz where she stood. Of course, Mamori may be special in that her compatibility index is high with everyone, but still.
Maybe she recognized Akira as her "prince" on a subconscious level? I liked Akira's reaction to all the devotion.
I liked Mire's little flash of jealousy that Mamori just assumed Akira would sleep with her instead of borrowing her bed and Mamori sharing Mirei's bed. Ah, it's all good fun!
The anarchist subplot was okay in its own right, since it showed that not everyone has hope that they'll get off the island. What I liked about it was how it revealed parts of Akira's character. She doesn't have a human partner (metaphor for sex toy...), so seeing other girls being passionate with each other showed off her modest side.
This may have been her first kiss. And it was with Mamori! Kyaa! I appreciated how the transformation still had the rose petals you see so often in shoujo manga.
Mamori still likes her Prince! New goods get!
Geh.
Oh my goodness! Akira's revelation of her female form was very NSFW.
I can only imagine the relief she felt letting those puppies loose. I liked her expression on her face too. Like she was so happy to be a girl again or she was glad to see her two best friends again.
Running into Torino always means soaking in a hot spring. And teasing each other about stress lines!
Okay, I can understand what Mamori went through seeing Akira like that at first sight.
I just liked how the lighting effects were employed here. On Akira's breasts, of course...
I'm not sure what the sad face was about when she saw Mamori turn into a sword. Being reminded of what they are, that they're stuck on that island because of those powers, all sorts of things. That's good story telling here, actually.
Best comedy part of the hot spring scene was Torino's derp face. This show is just not afraid to mix in the comedy with amazing nudity.
Hmm.
Akira did find something at the end of the episode. I wonder if this is the start of the final season ending drama, or another side story to introduce someone from Mirei's past, which will then set up the final story arc. As long as we get more female Akira, I'll be very happy with the rest of the season.
