10 Second Anime - Owarimonogatari - Episode 8

Yotsugi saves Araragi and Suruga from the burning abandoned school building and sends them off to their meeting. They're surprised to find Shinobu there instead of Gaen.

Hmm.

Yotsugi's conversation with Araragi confirmed for me that this sequence is happening after Mayoi passed on to escape the nameless darkness. I'm not sure, but it looks like Araragi does suspect this walking samurai suit to be the same creature. It made Suruga fall asleep after she punched it and that reminded him of the way Mayoi also fell asleep when the dark ball touched her.

The samurai appeared to used Mayoi's power of making people lost which means that it probably acquired Suruga's monkey paw powers. One other thing made clear to me was when and how Shinobu got separated from Araragi. When Yotsugi used Unlimited Rulebook to fly away from the dark ball with Mayoi and Araragi, Shinobu did not appear to come with them, even though she was supposed to be in Arargi's shadow. Where she went and how her connection to Araragi will be remade is what this arc is all about.

Aside from the slightly deviant sensuality of stepping on Araragi's face with her bare foot, I think Yotsugi had a different purpose. It may have been a way to mark him so that she could find him again. Shinobu was not happy to see evidence of her erstwhile loli rival giving special service to her partner.

Heh.

Yotsugi claims she thinks of Araragi as a friend. Neat trick for a reanimated corpse with no emotions.

She's still doing that spinning thing, but no "yay, yay, peace, peace," yet.

Araragi got some payback for the squishy face Yotsugi had just given him. The way his hands shot out reminded me of their future encounter.

Araragi still has that Zune HD phone.

Thanks again for reminding me what Microsoft could have done so much earlier in the mobile space.

You know Araragi is like a normal teenage boy in how he likes to tease younger girls, but he actually doesn't want to do anything with them by how he's so disturbed by Suruga throwing herself at him.

Suruga is just one level higher than Araragi on the things he likes.

Araragi likes how cute Shinobu can be, but Suruga takes it up a notch.

Not that I blame Suruga for liking cute girls, but we have to remember that Shinobu is a 500 year old vampire.

Araragi got caught dallying with another loli. Yes, it's so lamentable to be admired by so many younger girls. Don't do it (get caught) again, Koyomin!

So, what is this crab guy all about? Shinobu said that she'd been fighting against a monkey thing with the help of a cat, but the monkey was not Suruga. Her little exchange reminded me that she is just no good with names.
