The mission to kill Gaara by extracting his tailed beast begins. Fuu rushes back to help, but gets caught by the same snare.

Heh.

It's always fun to see Gai, Kurenai and Asuma working together. Kurenai didn't think much of the two dudes' acting skills, but then they're not genjutsu specialists like she is.

 

As expected, that monk dude used the Hidden Sand village kids to lure Gaara into his trap.

 

Tailed beasts have their own signal flare? Who knew?

 

With Neji's team coming to the rescue and Fuu supposedly giving up the chuunin exams because she made a friend (which was her real objective), I figure we know where they get the Earth scroll they need.

 

This monk dude is drawing the beasts out of the jinchuuriki, but where's he going to put them? In himself? I didn't think a single person could hold more than one whole beast at a time. It's one thing to have a bit of their chakra so you can talk to them like Naruto did, but to be host to more than one like the original Sage of the Six Paths seems like a bad idea to me.

 

Fuu must have a good relationship with Chomei the 7-tailed beast if she can casually fly around using its wings.

The TV show is supposed to be for young kids to watch, but yanking on Fuu's chain was slightly suggestive.

Neji, Lee and Tenten are coming to the rescue and we'll see how Neji became a jounin and how the team got the other scroll they needed. What are they going to fill the other six episodes left in the season with? Are they going to add filler to the filler? As long as they're not battling over a curry recipe, I'll take anything.
