The awkwardness in the Service Club keeps growing. Hachiman takes on President Iroha's request by himself.
Heh.
Before we got to the next problem to be solved, we saw many things showing the new awkwardness after the election - Hachiman staring at the cool kids to figure out how they kept the awkwardness away after a failed confession and some behind-the-back badmouthing, Yukino not even bothering to make tea for their club and Yui doing her darnedest to put on a brave face. Hachiman may have saved the Service Club by making Iroha run unopposed, but the relationships fractured anyway.
Iroha is in way over her head with this community event. It looks like a replay of the cultural festival, with the buzzword bingo school aiming to take credit for success and lay blame for disaster at Iroha's feet.
Hachiman should have let the whole club help out. I would have loved to see Yukino destroy those middle management graspers.
Iroha is ready for the hidden genius to work his magic.
I can see why Iroha asked for help. The other school has a bunch of talkers putting together the community center's Christmas pangeant, but the doers from their school are stuck doing busy work like writing the minutes.
Hachiman is quick enough on his feet to contain some damage, but he's only one man standing in front of a flood of meta analysis.
He's going to end up doing his usual bomb disposal, unless someone finds out and comes up with a better solution.
Yeah, the smarm is strong in this one.
Having his ex-crush watch him in action brings the cringe worthiness up two notches.
She said she was invited to the planning meetings like Hachiman was. Why? Maybe Hachiman's solution lies through her and he can make her hate him too, causing a spectacular clean break from his past.
Hmm.
The broad outlines of the problem are here, but we're also seeing how poorly the student council is working because of Iroha's lack of leadership. She has a strong personality, but she mainly applies it to looking weak in front of people she wants help from. She's not using her usual fake ditzy character with the student council or the other school members. Perhaps she doesn't see a need to because she doesn't need anything out of them, but her lack of action is going to reflect badly on the school if the Christmas pageant turns into a fiasco from delays. Hachiman is going to have to appeal to her selfishness again like he did when he convinced her to accept an election victory. I never know what circumstances are going to come out of left field, so I'm looking forward to being surprised again.
