Cross Ange - Episode 22
The DRAGONs and Libertas form an alliance as Embryo starts his plan to merge their two worlds. Ange discovers all is not lost.
Heh.
I think we got the last bit of exposition from Riza about the mana users and the Norma. The Dragon Ladies' voices cancel out mana and drive those people crazy, so they had to use the Norma to fight them. Not only that, Embryo genetically engineered mana users to hate Norma. This is why it seemed like a hate switch being turned on as soon as anyone saw proof that a woman was a Norma. I guess the Ancient people like Tusk don't cancel out mana, but they don't get driven crazy by dragons either. Mana use is related to the dragunium crystals, so it makes sense the dragons would interfere somehow. Regular people are just regular.
Embryo just tosses women aside if they're no use to him anymore. Ersha had no use for him if he wasn't going to resurrect those little Norma kids.
I liked how the preview for the next episode had Ange complaining how far-fetched Tusk's and Momoka's survival was. Come on. The frying pan may have saved Momoka from a bullet, but she fell and then had an exploding car land on top of her. And Tusk's fire resistant suit wouldn't have helped against the concussive force of his suicide vest. Ah, so what. We're going to get our happy ending now.
Is there nothing Momoka can't do with her frying pan?
We got one last explanation about the Ragna-mails from Riza too. They were designed by Embryo to regulate his space-time power from dragunium power sources. It makes me wonder if those huge blasts 500 years ago were space-time explosions.
Salia was a bad, bad girl.
I can totally tell the production team from the first 3 episodes is in charge now. The women's faces look better, their bodies are sexier, and things are just a little bit more exploitative than the middle third of this show.
Celestial rays of censorship are back too. Speaking of that, I had a chance to look at the BD's for the first 3 episodes, and I was disappointed. The censored stuff was just underwear drawn a little too well and some fondled breasts, but no nudity. I am disappoint /meme.
Was Emma always such a "big" girl? See? This is what I'm talking about for the character designs recently. Not complaining, just pointing it out.
And we got that will-they-won't-they thing out of the way. Look how long Ange's hair has gotten. The passage of time is still being accounted for here.
Embryo just got rid of the aristocracy. I'm guessing lazy mana users won't be coming back to the newly combined world he wants to create.
Hmm.
As soon as Ange got her groove back, telling Vilkiss what to do was not a problem. Chris only shot her down last episode because she was still all tingly from being sex-tortured by Embryo.
There's going to be a reckoning next time. Ersha has rejoined Libertas, waving a huge white bra, er flag. Rosalie is going to give Chris a nice smack. I don't really care about Salia unless she puts on one of her outfits. I'm expecting a lot of cgi mecha fighting before the last episode. Ange put on Tusk's mother's old flight suit. Is that like putting on her wedding dress?
