Kirin and Ryou spend a day at Shiina's house to do "summer-like" things. Flowing somen noodles is the main event.

Summer vacation for cram school students isn't all it's cracked up to be.

 

This time around, we get a Shiina centered episode and we see that Shiina is the combination of her genki girl mom and the quiet and cool maid.

 

Ha! Shiina's mom was worried that Shiina was the only having gourmetgasms and she was really happy Kirin and Ryou share her interests.

 

Mama will not be denied. Lotion for your hands! Tweezers for your splinter!

 

Leave it to Ryou to find a way to paint summer watermelons in a foodie manner.



Pickled watermelon rinds. Hoookay...

 

Kirin can't believe she's spending summer vacation indoors because of her art lessons.

 

Leave it to cool quiet Shiina to calm down a raging Kirin.

I get a huge kick out of the suction cup sounds they give to Kirin when she walks around.

 

I guess a big old estate can have every summer-like thing on Kirin's list. Except she didn't go swimming with the face-carp.

 

Ryou held up her food to the camera in the kitchen again. It's a thing!

 

Genki girls need lots of sugar to stay genki.

 



Genki mamas don't outgrow this is what we learned today.

 

Ha! Shiina was glad to see what a composed polite Kirin looks like. She saved a mental image for ammunition, I know it.

 

Indoor girls should pace themselves with manual labor.

 



So convenient. Just go to your personal bamboo forest for all your bamboo needs.

 

After being told to eat the noodles with chopsticks, Kirin got the hang of somen catching.

 

Just like when the three girls ate so many rice omelets, here they ate the entire basket of somen noodles. And yet, no gaining weight. Now you know - it takes a lot of calories for cute girls to do cute things.

 

Aw, Kirin even got her summer festival experience crossed off the list.

 



Fireworks, wishes tied to a tree, the works. All of the summer-like stuff in one day.

 

The prologue reminded us very well that SHAFT is in charge.

 

The chibi version characters during the previews again just about killed me with cuteness.

 

I liked that look of recognition and wistfullness Kirin and Ryou had when they saw Shiina's mom fussing over her hands. It conveyed that mothers are all the same, Shiina is lucky to have her mom here when Kirin and Ryou do not, they miss their moms, and even cool confident Shiina stands no chance of refusing her genki mom. Those were some good looks!
