As Tigre takes stock of his recovered land, Elen's king reminds her of her priorities to national interests. Lim is a casualty in an attempted assassination on Tigre.

Heh.

These Vanadis girls don't seem very mature, at least in how Elen and Ludmila act childishly with each other. They even have a big sister type in Sofy to keep the peace.

I guess it's a big deal for the Zhcted king to receive a War Maiden. Two others were in attendance, but we didn't get their names.

Saying you invaded another country because you like a boy isn't a good enough reason? Real invasions in our own history have been done for less.

I'm not clear on what the first battle between Brune and Zhcted was all about, but wasn't the ransom on Tigre more than what all of Alsace was worth? It seems like Elen keeping Tigre and getting his land as they slowly pay off the ransom would be reasonable terms.

Meeting more of these War Maidens means there's more to ogle, er, more girls for Tigre to add to his harem.



Elen cleans up nice. With all the busty warrior women we've seen so far in this show, we needed to have a loli added to the lineup real quick.

Ludmila thinks Elen is a bit hotheaded and politically slow-witted. Elen thinks she has what matters to one-up Ludmila.



Sofy Onee-sama shows up to remind them they're both lacking.



Brains and beauty. The young ones still have big shoes to fill.



Ah, perhaps shoes are the wrong articles of clothing...

But Ludmila still seems to be the right kind of bouncy to me.

Maybe they haven't invented underwire in this magic world. I know for sure they haven't invented alarm clocks.



Hey, Lim started it!

Speaking of Lim, she took a poisonous snake right above her breast. Cheeky snake. But Tigre knows how to administer first aid in situations like this.



I think I saw this in a vampire movie... a right bodice ripper that was too! Putting that aside, Tigre has to suck on her, ahem, needs to suck the poison out of her wound.



Not suggestive at all. Nope. Also, not the ideal situation for Tigre and Lim to increase their skinship. And I don't think Tigre is properly securing her body to hold her close enough...



H-how can you think dirty thoughts at a time like this?! Poison! He's sucking poison out of her!

I like how Ludmila just asked if Tigre was done "administering first aid." It's what the cool kids are calling it these days. Whatever "it" is.

Hmm.

This was actually a good episode to flesh out the consequences of Elen's audacity to prevent a duke from a different country from annexing another duke's land. She really didn't have a good reason, from a national perspective, but these are ostensibly feudal times, and a code of chivalry unites all the nobles. Besides, Tigre totally stole her heart, even if she hasn't realized it yet.

This same code has also formed a relationship between another War Maiden and this other duke, Ludmila's family and the Thenardiers. So, Elen forming a relationship with Tigre is not unheard of. However, balancing national interests with noble relations is a tricky act when things are based on honor and history, in addition to commerce and finance.

The way Ludmila complains about Elen being too emotionally attached to her retainers makes me think she wishes she had close relationships like that, but her pride and devotion to royal or martial class systems won't allow her to bridge those divides. I'm sure she'll see a different perspective from Tigre, who learned a different role for nobility in serving the people of his land. The flashback of the old duke teaching Tigre how to till a field shows that pretty starkly.

Our cliffhanger is Lim needing a doctor, with Ludmila getting out of her comfort zone in doing things for a subordinate. I want to see Lim get better and give Tigre a good scolding for totally feeling her up. Hey, it's payback for sticking a sword in his mouth.
