Cheng Ji, of Giant-Shimano, has already made history at this year's Tour as the first Chinese national to ride at the start. If he makes it to Paris, he will complete another milestone in being the first Chinese national to finish the Tour de France. This may be a considerable challenge, as he is also the current Lanterne Rouge, the last rider on General Classification, behind current leader Nibali by over 4 hours and 13 minutes after 15 stages.
The next closest rider is about half an hour ahead of him. Still, this deficit is only 6.3% of Nibali's total time so far.
