Akame ga Kill! - Episode 3
Tatsumi begins to fit in with Night Raid. Partnered with Mine, he learns more about her, their weapons, the emperor, and the bad people they kill.
Heh.
Lots of exposition with Tatsumi killing people with Bulat and Mine. Night Raid appears to be special among the assassin organizations because they have Imperial Arms, which people no longer know how to make.No hesitation in calling Bulat "aniki" versus "handsome." Better to have a big bro than have a vague relationship with uncertain boundaries, right Tatsumi?
Speaking of big bros:
Bulat seems to be having much more fun with a non-regulation hairstyle. Yo.
Tatsumi is living with a bunch of girls, so he better learn to knock first. He looks like a quick learner, so Mine shouldn't have to do this too often.
That weapon is supposed to get more powerful when the user is in more and more danger. I think Mine is pretty safe against Tatsumi...
That "training mission" Mine and Tatsumi went on looked more like a reluctant date to me. Mine is working on her ojou-sama skills, naturally, for when she strikes it rich after the revolution is over.
She's got the laugh down already!
Tatsumi is starting to fit in with his new comrades, but still missing his old friends. Good. Actual character development, mixed in with lots of blood.
Geh.
Akame ga Kill? More like Akame wa kawaii!Nice apron. And a ponytail? Bonus!
Leone is still mai waifu.
Mind the gap...
Hmm.
We knew the prime minister advising the young emperor was going to be bad, but there is something seriously wrong with the emperor too. He appears to be sociopathic or utterly amoral. I don't see how we can get on a story of redemption for him, unless he's under some kind of mind control. We've got an overall setting, but it looks like we're in the middle of character driven plot. Killers with Imperial Arms aren't just with the revolutionary army, so I figure the serial killer that Night Raid meets next time will be a good device to reveal more of the world and how those interesting weapons work.
Tatsumi is so full of energy to be doing something with new friends after finding his close friends murdered and tortured. I like how the story hints that he feels conflicted with getting to know new people so soon after their deaths. A strong main character who is trying to get stronger? More, please!
