So much action this week, not only did the episode not have an opening sequence, but this 10 Second Anime is actually 15! Oh, and God is dead. A fallen angel said so...

Okay, lots of reveals in this episode: Akeno is the daughter of a fallen angel; the reason there was a détente between the fallen angels, angels, and demons was because God actually died in the last great war, and the archangel Michael has been handling the "administrative" duties since then; the Red Dragon, which is the sacred gear belonging to Issei, has a mortal enemy in the White Dragon, who belongs to an underling of the fallen angels' leader Azazel; Xenovia decides to become a demon rather than return to the Church, now that she knows God is dead, and joins Rias' group as a knight; and the old man client who has been contracting a devil to play video games with him, which has been Issei for a number of weeks, is actually Azazel himself.

Something interesting about Rias Gremory's collection of demons, is that all of them so far have been revealed to be reborn demons. We have two converted Church members in Xenovia and Asia, who still ask for God's blessing out of habit, and still have not learned that they get a headache from doing that. Yuuto was an abandoned member of a Church program to create a new Excalibur Holy Sword. Akeno is the daughter of a fallen angel, another faction vying with the demons. We still don't know Koneko's origins, so that's something I'm looking forward to seeing.

Also, since Rias' group is modeled on chess pieces, we have room for adding a few more positions. Rias herself is the King, and Akeno is Queen. Yuuto was the sole Knight, now joined by Xenovia. Koneko is a Rook, and Asia is the Bishop. Issei is the only pawn, but since he can be "promoted" with is Boosted Gear in the form of the Red Dragon, he easily makes up in quality, if not quantity. So, we still have room for another Rook or Bishop. There's already hints of a new girl member being added in the closing credits, so I'm curious which role she will fill.
