Global Warming Scaremongering in Mexico

At the environmental summit in Monterrey, Mexico, the disaster scenarios were trotted out with abandon. Freak weather patterns? In the headline, and the lede. A bigger push for carbon trading schemes? You bet. Scary language of floods, hurricanes, coastal erosion, and heatwaves? Check, check, check, and check. Lies about rising sea temperatures? It's in there. "Time is running out" rhetoric? Oh yeah! Actual targets for carbon emissions? Huh? What, you want to base saving the world on science? We can't have that! Just pay all these poor little developing countries with this carbon trading scheme and slow down your filthy polluting economies, you big rich bullies! What? How dare you accuse the Kyoto Protocol of spreading communism and socialism? Now, excuse me, I have to board my private jet and burn all sorts of carbon emitting jet fuel, after spending a nice vacation, er, time here in lovely resort town Monterrey.
