Yowamushi Pedal - Limit Break - Episode 15 - 10 Second Anime

Kuroda and Midousuji attack the exhausted Naruko and Sohoku on the long downhill to the next climb.

BREAK.15 — "Downhill Attacking and Defending!!"

Cycling Porn.

Yowamushi Pedal accurately showed what graying out with tunnel vision looks like from an endurance athlete's perspective. When I've grayed out, the darkness starts at the boundaries of my field of vision and grows toward the center. Moving your head around makes it worse. Root bumps are the hardest road hazard to see. It is even worse when you have grayed out from bonking. Imaizumi showed how sprinters rub shoulders in the bunch without touching brakes but applied it to guardrails on downhill curves. That's wrong. Descending demons sit up on the bike to bleed speed before a turn. Then we saw Manami's Look and Midousuji's De Rosa bike frames. Sohoku had two sparking gear changes.

Heh.

Naruko has bonked. He might make it through the downhill section but won't survive the next climb. Naruko should have been open and honest about his condition with his teammates. Oh well. The nurse station has funny moments between Hakone and Sohoku members. BaKaburagi is loud, and Aoyagi is quiet, but they're both excited about the Big Three at the head of the race.

Hakone catches up to Sohoku, thanks to their heavier bodies and Onoda and Naruko's lighter ones. I never liked Kuroda's self-harm switch. Gay boys who love the yaoi undertones of Yowamushi Pedal don't need that type of encouragement. Imaizumi started brushing the guardrails the way Arakita did. And Midousuji joined the party! This last season leans into treating him like a Titan from Attack of the Titans. Kaijuu Midousuji! Ha! That's the first "gross!" shout of the season. We've seen Midousuji's insane cornering before.

Catastrophe. Naruko missed a root bump in the road. Midousuji takes the lead, but so what? He calls Sohoku "houseflies," and Hakone "sandflies." I'd love to know how he arrived at that distinction. There's nothing new about Midousuji's cycling philosophy we didn't learn last year: cut everything away to achieve pure victory. There was no point in showing another year at the Inter-High Road Race for THE NATIONAL CHAMPION OF JAPAN except for introducing new characters. What happened to Komari?

It's time for Naruko's cycling death scene. He'll burn out what's left of his strength to catch Midousuji. Onoda doesn't want to leave him behind, but friendship is about sacrifice too. Imaizumi saw Naruko's intent.

Next time on Yowamushi Pedal, how far is the end of the line for the Naruko Super Express?
