BREAK.03 — “The Power to Move Forward Together”
Hmm.
Teshima and Aoyagi’s Synchronized Straight Twin reprise feels like way too much of a rehash of the first year of Onoda’s cycling career. Are we watching a tribute band performance of last year’s Inter-High Race? Yowamushi Pedal’s return after five years is not giving me a good feeling.
Cycling Porn.
The duel between the Sohoku and Kyoto Fushimi side characters meant lots of time looking at their bikes. Aoyagi and Teshima’s Corratec and Cannondale still look like they’re from 2010. We’ve seen the Anchor from the braces guy many times already. Komari’s Carrera will be seen less and less. Midousuji’s De Rosa will be his costar for two seasons. I’m sure.
Heh.
Aw. What a bro moment between Teshima and Izumida. They won’t be friends again until after the finish line. Here come the piranhas! Sohoku and Hakone make quick adjustments and sacrifices. Teshima fell away! Oho. Midousuji’s team jumped ahead of the peloton during the hesitation of swallowing up riders. This piranha pack became a school of small fries again. How can Teshima catch up to his teammates now? Aoyagi! The Synchronized Straight Twin will pick up the pace. We’ve seen that Certain Victory handshake before.
The combined paceline reached their leaders. Now they’re enemies again. Izumida waits for Sohoku to receive Onoda’s positive spirit before leaving them. Maybe he wanted to see it happen: how THE NATIONAL CHAMPION OF JAPAN rallies his forces. But Teshima and Aoyagi need to pass Midousuji first. Ah. Kyoto Fushimi’s zako will do the blocking for Midousuji. Lame. This “race” between pairs will tire out Teshima and Aoyagi’s legs. Well, negotiations happen in pro-racing too, but not like this. Supersonic Oxygen Human Bullet, Aoyagi! This is why Onoda fits so well with this team. They’re just as chuunibyou as he is. Yamaguchi knows Aoyagi is injured, though.
Next time, the two-up team duel goes to the bridge.
