Sumika tried to convince Kanoko to stop bringing her romantic feelings for Hime-chan onto the salon floor. She told how Youko and Nene started a relationship, but Nene's character was the Schwester for Sumika's. Youko wanted to be Nene's Schwester, which would ruin the prior story's plot and character development. Then playgirl Youko left the cafe for her "real job," breaking Nene's heart and dismissing their relationship as "having fun." Sumika doesn't want to see that happen again.
Kanoko simply refuses to play a character. She only wants to be on the floor with Hime-chan to look at her, and Sumika needs to smooth over her glaring with the customers.
Kanoko worries that Hime-chan will begin to hate her if she's not always around. Sumika wonders how to prevent a disaster and a dip in customer participation. Nene, Youko's jilted lover, might have answers because she never left. Nene is the chef! Nene told Sumika that breaking up and crying are also parts of romance. If Kanoko is the near-tears kind of character, could Sumika use that for her character development? Sumika had an idea!
