The size and number of monsters attacking their caravan shocked Megumin and Yunyun. Yunyun felt helpful for the first time, while Megumin felt ignored because she couldn't use her explosion magic so close to people.
The monster attacks turned out to be a plot by Arnes to capture Chomusuke! The demon lady doesn't understand that Lady Wolbach separated her demon monster aspect, turning it into a wisp of a cat demon. Arnes still thinks the kitten demon is Lady Wolbach herself because it "smells" like her. Now that Yunyun is drained of magic and can't defend herself anymore, Arnes has her chance at taking Chomusuke away from Megumin.
Megumin threw Chomusuke away, and Arness went after her! Now Megumin can blast them both out of the sky! Yunyun objected to killing a cute kitten and prayed to Eris and even Aqua to intervene. Yes. It is Yunyun's fault that Aqua and Kazuma came to this beautiful world! The goddess's power distracted Arness, Chomusuke chomped her arm, making her let go, and Yunyun caught the falling kitten demon. Then Megumin and Arnes threw their most powerful spells at each other! Megumin's Explosion defeated Cursed Lightning. But did Arness die in the blast, or was she reduced to a cute demon form too?
