The Maid I Hired Recently is Mysterious teased us! It blocked us so badly! The anime served up Lilith’s shared past with Yuuri and Yuuri’s realization that he loves her. But before Lilith and Yuuri can enjoy a happy moment together... Blam! Natsume, the shark-toothed maid, cocks up our lovey-dovey atmosphere. That’s great storytelling. Now I can’t wait until next week!
Speaking of Lilith’s past, I enjoyed watching her grow up with Fujisaki. I was under the impression that they worked at the same place before Fujisaki started working for Tsukasa’s family. The Mysterious Maid’s revelation that they went to school together was fun. Especially how Fujisaki was always a rough tomboy. Lilith took care of her in her mysterious quiet ways back then too.
Heh.
Look at this! Yuuri already put a ring on it in The Maid I Hired Recently is Mysterious. Look at the preteen commitment in Yuuri’s heart. Oho. Did Yuuri connect his dream girl to Lilith? Almost! Aha. He’ll have plenty of time to think about it on Lilith’s day off.
Wow! Lilith is cute! I’d drop my pencil too. Oh, snap. Yuuri realized she might be going on a date! Who is Lilith meeting? She only knows Fujisaki in this town, so that’s my guess. But before Lilith meets her date, she needs bread! The artists for The Mysterious Maid love drawing pastries. Also, this is a town of ninety percent women. Not complaining, just saying. Ha! Lilith can tell when she’s being watched now. Yuuri needed to satisfy his curiosity about his suspicious dating maid. Ohoho. I spy a jealous shadow on that bridge.
Lilith’s heart is not into this date. She’s worrying too much about Yuuri alone in his mansion. She’s just as possessive as Yuuri is. There she is. Prince Fujisaki of The Mysterious Maid wears pants on her date. She also worries about Tsukasa’s purity without her there. Aw, look at the reminiscing. Fujisaki was a hard ass in high school! Lilith remarks that Fujisaki has grown much warmer since she started caring for Tsukasa. Cute! Fujisaki worries about Lilith not being open with Yuuri. Ah! Fujisaki knows about Lilith’s past with Yuuri too! Come on, Lilith! Time to come clean. Fujisaki knows how well she takes care of prickly children. Like her!
Boo to The Mysterious Maid. Tsukasa cut Fujisaki’s date with Lilith short. Har. Yuuri did spy on Lilith’s day off. Oh good. Yuuri heard his lullaby again in the cafe. Now he remembers his mom and a mysterious, purple-eyed girl singing the same song to him. Yuuri has questions for Lilith! It’s not about what’s for dinner! I mean, yes, that’s awesome, but no! Busted. Yuuri was spying on Lilith all day. It’s not fair that he doesn’t get to look at her cute outfit, but others do!
Now The Mysterious Maid is getting somewhere. Yuuri remembers Lilith when he was younger! Why didn’t Lilith tell him she already knew him? Suspicious! What was the relationship? Foster care? Au pair? Maid in training? Her long hair means she met Yuuri before Fujisaki. Ooh. There was a dark secret preventing Lilith from telling Yuuri. Is that a hint that it’s related to his parents’ car accident? Why was she afraid Yuuri wouldn’t remember her? Suspicious! Oh? Yuuri admits that he has trouble remembering everything about Lilith.
Will The Mysterious Maid turn from this will-they-won’t-they get together teasing? Will Lilith turn Yuuri’s mansion into an age-gap love nest? I doubt it! Aw. Yuuri is trying to recollect his time with Lilith in the past. Yes, that is a flower engagement ring. Lilith is getting more suspicious. What are all those unopened letters about? Is she ignoring requests to return to her former place of employment? Ha! Tsukasa is so nosy! But she knows Yuuri is in a good mood because of “progress.” Tsukasa wants the “goods.” Okay, how about Yuuri and Lilith sleeping together? Kyaa! Yuuri is now precocious in Tsukasa’s imagination.
Oh, dear. Yuuri still believes his suspiciousness and curiosity about Lilith is why he can’t stop thinking about her. Tsukasa drops love knowledge on his head. Yuuri’s heart was finally ready to accept reality. Tsukasa wants to follow him and watch the dramatic love confession scene! Denied.
But Yuuri said the words out loud! He’s symbolically climbing the steps to adulthood! What happens next? The Mysterious Maid is a romantic comedy, so I’m sure we’ll get a delaying tactic in plot development. Who kept sending those unopened letters? We’re going to find out! There’s our delaying tactic. Introduce a new character! Natsume, the shark-toothed, twin-tailed maid, wants Lilith back.
Next time, the anime tries to convince us that Lilith and Yuuri have complicated feelings.
