Kurokawa's Tetsujin started a self-destruct sequence. Pawoo's steel pole skills were necessary to break his armor so Bisco and Milo could disarm him. Before the assault, Pawoo made a request of Bisco. Well, she wanted Bisco! They gave each other an incentive to survive the end game.
Milo understood how Bisco and Kurokawa "came back to life." The unique nature of Mushroom Keeper blood allowed weird things to happen. Neither Kurokawa nor Bisco burned up in the Rust pool. The Rust just absorbed them whole, even though the image of flames gave us the wrong idea. Kurokawa awakened first and controlled the Tetsujin through Rust power. Bisco's body was still in the Rust enclosing the Tetsujin skeleton, and he awakened later using Rust Eater power. Rust Eaters won the day! In the epilogue, Pawoo took over the city with her clear skin. Milo and Bisco traveled to eradicate Rust and slowly break the anti-Mushroom Keeper prejudice. The official Japanese government propagates the same propaganda Kurokawa peddled for pharma profits. The buddy and journey story continues for Bisco and Milo.
