Kukuru said Fuuka felt like an older sister to her, so Fuuka offered to hold her hand when they went to sleep.

Besides Fuuka taking on the role of Kukuru's older sister, Chiyu coming to the aquarium added drama to the episode. Chiyu wanted to learn from a "legendary aquarium director" but was disappointed due to her preconceived notions. Kukuru didn't like the outsider because she was connected to the new aquarium that was the root cause of her family's business failing. Chiyu confirmed her first impression with her condescending attitude. She didn't learn the more profound lessons the legendary aquarium director showed her by just walking around and talking to customers.
