Episode 8 – “That Might Actually Be Fun, Senpai♥ / Let's Play Rock-Paper-Scissors, Senpai!!”
Hmm.
Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san showed us more character development for Nagatoro this week. We’ve already seen how competitive she is, even over trivial things, which relates to her participation in athletics. She also values fair play. Rules are rules, whether she likes it or not. And sometimes she doesn’t like it at all, like how she grudgingly carried Senpai’s bag after losing a game of rock paper scissors. Senpai let her win the next game so he could avoid that uncomfortable atmosphere.
Nagatoro appears to be concerned about Sakura’s man-hungry ways now that she’s noticed Senpai. Yoshi and Gamo-chan don’t much like the boys sniffing around her, but they don’t mind Senpai. These new friendly developments will lead to more clashes with Nagatoro’s possessiveness, which is great for new comedy material in Nagatoro-san. The preview shows Sakura in a date situation with Senpai for next week, so we’re already seeing the benefits.
Nagatoro-san quickly capitalized on Senpai’s growing comfort and assertiveness with the Nagatoro family. Just last week he blocked two beta-bros and took home four beautiful girls. It was a nice contrast to see him in the same library setting making comebacks to the whole gyaru gang compared to how he acted when he first met them in the Nagatoro-san season premiere. He’s also an accidental alpha male with Nagatoro. He copped a feel and saw Nagatoro naked in the bathtub. Life is good for Senpai.
Heh.
Nagatoro-san is back to the prologue format this week. Nagatoro tells it like it is. Senpai is thin, so girls push him around. One in particular… Nagatoro says “gross” so much, it’s lost all meaning. Senpai defies Nagatoro, but not for long. Progress! Where is she going with this? Ha! How Heavy is the Nagatoro-san You Lift, Senpai? Don’t answer that. Beautiful view, Senpai. Is Senpai flushing from effort or from feeling Nagatoro’s fine, warm butt on his back? Giddyap, Senpai! What a metaphor for their whole relationship. Senpai needs to stop worrying about rumors now. It’s too late!
Into the Nagatoro-san’s proper episode and Senpai needs to give up his new video game until midterms are over. Nagatoro worries about her Senpai. She can already tell when he lies to her. Senpai has two modes for teasing Nagatoro – he’s either “suspicious” or “gross.” Today, he’s “suspicious.” Nagatoro makes quite the fleshed-out scenario. Senpai becomes “ex-Senpai” by failing everything because of the video game release schedule until he repeats a grade. Uh oh. Senpai expressed interest in the idea of sharing a classroom with Nagatoro. She can’t handle that! Now Senpai is back to “gross.”
The library where Nagatoro-san began. He doesn’t mind the Nagatoro family talking to him while he studies now. Ha. Gamo-chan and Yoshi join the scenario of Senpai becoming “ex-Senpai.” Then they double-down and make him repeat another year, so they become his senpais! Nagatoro finds this idea intriguing. They treat him more like a bullied gopher. The massaging isn’t realistic because of the huge lack of blushing. Yoshi’s food throwing scene was classic Yoshi. Hee. Gamo-chan, Yoshi, and Sakura already messed up their midterms. Nagatoro is the smartest of the bunch. Too bad for her! She can’t get extra tutoring from Senpai! After all that, Senpai made decent grades on his tests. No ex-Senpai for Nagatoro!
Senpai learns the joys of boba from the flashy gal crew in the eye catches. Japanese girls call it タピ (tapi), short for the tapioca balls mixed into the iced tea.
Nagatoro-san part two starts with Nagatoro’s friends doing “something” to Senpai behind closed doors. Nagatoro has a dirty mind! It’s not the girls “relieving stress” for Senpai. They’re holding him down so Sakura can pull a splinter. That splinter is Nagatoro’s!
Walking home together again. Nagatoro is angry because Senpai helped Sakura carry wooden chairs. He’s too nice. Um, can we mention how girls talk to Senpai in Nagatoro-san now and he doesn’t freak out? He’s halfway to stud now, isn’t he? Nagatoro wants Senpai to carry something for her, but she doesn’t have a reason. Then, she’ll make one! Rock-paper-scissors go! Senpai just goes with her flow. He won! Accidentally. Senpai knows he’ll need to let her win “fairly,” like when they played the fighting game at her house in the third episode.
Oh, man. Senpai let Nagatoro win, but she’s such an annoying sore winner. Fun. Nagatoro-san brought back Nekotoro. She removed her limiters. That won’t happen to Senpai, though. Last contest: Senpai needs to carry Nagatoro! She’s not worried about people watching her ride Senpai like in the prologue. Uh oh. Nagatoro starts slipping. Senpai will need to hitch her back up, which means more thigh-grabbing action! Game over. Innocent Nagatoro ran away again.
Here comes Nagatoro-san’s reconciliation time. Senpai needs to start initiating contact instead of waiting by his phone. Aw. She’s okay now. That means it’s time for her to tease Senpai somehow to get him back. Yeah! Nagatoro bathtub time! She’s getting Senpai good, but I’m just waiting for the backfire. There it is! She started a video chat! She knows it’s not Senpai’s fault, but that’s mortifying.
Next time, Sakura and Senpai go on a date!
