Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san - Episode 2 - 10 Second Anime

Nagatoro pokes and prods Senpai in the art club room. Senpai accidentally spies on Nagatoro at a family restaurant.

Episode 2 – “You Got Your Wish, Senpai!! / ‘Sup, Senpai?!”

Hmm.

In the first half, Nagatoro-san gives us the physical humor and teasing gags that we expect from sadistic dynamo whenever she finds new material to use on her favorite toy. The form of Senpai’s encounters with Nagatoro looks like early dating, where the girl asks the boy questions, and he does all the talking about himself. It’s not voluntary for Senpai, which sets up all the jokes about an unwelcome visit from Nagatoro. I’m looking forward to when Senpai starts getting to know Nagatoro, because he don’t know anything about her yet, except she enjoys looking at his art and reading his manga.

The second half starts with titillation play, then segues into Senpai accidentally seeing Nagatoro’s serious side. The scene in the diner was a nice peek into Nagatoro’s psychology. In the first episode, we saw her start picking on Senpai after she read his manga script. I speculated she recognized his talent and that he was a passionate artist underneath his shy exterior. She wanted to pull that out and see more of it.

Nagatoro has her own issues, so she’s treating someone she likes as if she’s in third grade pulling pigtails. But she only does that if there’s already a genuine connection or a certain level of intimacy. Nagatoro initiates all the sexual jokes with Senpai, but she didn’t tolerate a stranger starting up with her. She had just come from a situation with Senpai about to poke her chest, but she didn’t want to hear a guy she just met joke about feeling her up.

Nagatoro has politeness boundaries, but not with Senpai, because he’s already inside her protective barrier. He makes a great foil for gag humor since his reactions are so unguarded and Nagatoro eats up that authenticity, which causes a spiraling positive feedback loop. Introverts like Senpai are sensitive to others’ feelings, so he realizes Nagatoro thinks he’s special, but he wonders if he’s a special bully target, or something more. His heart isn’t ready yet to accept the more romantic explanation.

Heh.

Hula hooping Nagatoro! She’s twisting tornado! Senpai needs excitement in his life and Nagatoro will give it to him. Senpai does whatever she tells him. Couples’ hula hooping? Senpai’s hips are not ready for Nagatoro. Ha! Lucky lecher! Hula hoop smack!

After the fun prologue, we get to the episode proper, and Senpai has an ecchi manga volume. Senpai is also a man of culture. Ha! Nagatoro is not happy at this sight. Too late. She wants a look at those big booby vampires. Senpai is so weak to Nagatoro’s flirty teasing. Ha! Look at her blush over those sexy drawings. Hey, Nagatoro already gave Senpai a “lucky accident” this episode. Also, she doesn’t have much for Senpai to accidentally fall on.

Nagatoro reads quick! That’s not a coincidence she’s drinking tomato juice right after finishing a vampire story. She and Senpai are already an odd couple. She read a manga volume while he continued to sketch. That’s intimacy when two people can be quiet together. Nagatoro is quick to notice a character in the vampire story like Senpai, while she casually sucks on a tomato juice box.

Oh, come on now, Senpai. You don’t need to try so hard to hide your virginity. Why even try? Hey, if Nagatoro wants to play at biting your neck when you have no chance of turning into a mindless ghoul, why not let her? Hey, that’s not a skinfang! A cute, tan girl just jumped on you, Senpai. Fight, talk, or flee? Uh, talking’s not working. Ahahaha! That garlic yakisoba Senpai worked Nagatoro! That’s taking vampire roleplaying to the edge! Talking did work. Lucky lecher goes both ways in Nagatoro-san.

Aw. The cute couple walks home from school. Nagatoro had a realization. Look at that blush and vulnerable grin! Was that the first time she touched a boy? Throw the question back at her, Senpai.

Vampire Nagatoro carries the maiden form of Senpai in the first eye catch. Senpai leads a huge group of virgin ghouls in the second one.

Never a moment’s rest for Senpai. Uh, Nagatoro gambles heavily on him not having enough courage to poke her chest in the “nipple guessing game.” The stakes are high. The prize is a ticket making the loser do “anything” the winner wants. That nude model example is missing Nagatoro’s tanlines. Disappointed... Double bullseye! Wait, did she miss? No! She did not! Senpai’s turn. Nervous whistling from Nagatoro. The suspense! Will Senpai poke her? Ha! Saved by the ringtone!

Finally, some peace and quiet for Senpai at his usual family restaurant. Ah, crap. Nagatoro and her loud friends showed up! Ooh, Sakura and Nagatoro are talking with boys. They’re not important because they have no eyes. Nagatoro looks bored. That flashy musician annoys her. Senpai wants to see the smackdown! Uh, no smackdown. Her putdowns are more devastating when she’s so quiet. She could tell that guy’s art had no authentic passion in it.

The other loud guy takes a turn chatting with Nagatoro. Harsh! She dismissed his inappropriate flirting with extreme prejudice. Nagatoro told Sakura those guys are “boring.”

Nice. Senpai realized he’s “special” to his constant tormenter.

End credits song for the second episode. All the art is pastel pop art versions of Nagatoro and Senpai in scenes we’ve already seen. Next time, Nagatoro introduces Senpai to her flashy gal group of friends.
