Mahouka’s fourth episode gave us a chance to enjoy its brand of humor, which we hadn’t seen much yet because of all the dramatic plot and character development. This meant we saw Angelina's chibi gag reaction faces. We heard the Shiba siblings' humorous romantic music when Miyuki starts to hope for more. And Master Kokonoe shared deadpan observations in his rascally tone at the brink of outright destruction. Yes, Mahouka is back in the groove and now Angelina and her retinue get to share in the comedy set by the magic irregulars orbiting Tatsuya. It's all good!

Tatsuya absolutely dominated Angelina. How will she react? She’ll keep fighting, but Tatsuya is “tough in a fight” too. Angelina’s Parade illusion is formidable and annoying.

There’s so much gamesmanship going on here. Hiding powers, presenting one obvious one when it’s another that does the deed. Crazy, but this is how elite magicians duel. Hilarious. Angelina pulled her vulnerable woman’s card. Uh, that’s a lot of cops to show up so quickly. They’re obviously not real policemen. That’s Major Angelina Sirius to you, Tatsuya.

If Angelina thinks she can kill Tatsuya to cover up her identity, she has another think coming. Also, don’t mess with Miyuki when her brother’s life is on the line. Yup. Now we know why Master Kokonoe called on Miyuki so late when she should have been only monitoring Tatsuya’s position. Ho. Miyuki wants to take Angelina head-on for messing with her big brother-sama. Angelina will ask herself again if all Japanese kids are so tough. Also, the elite of the American elite magicians should be better than this, right? Well, it’s just another example of Japanese culture introducing the uncouth classless Americans about the power of the Ten Clans controlling Japan.

Hahahaha! Tatsuya just gave Miyuki lovey-dovey points. A kiss on the forehead. Wincest! She’ll go for the instant kill now! Angelina is not sure what to make of what she saw, but I think she understands Miyuki has several layers of meaning for the word “rival” she gave to her.

Whoops. The pair’s magic went out of control and Tatsuya just took both their most powerful spells into himself. Ha! Master Kokonoe buried himself in the ground to avoid the blast.

Ha and aw. Angelina is depressed that she lost. Sylvie has seen this behavior before. We must remember that Angelina is only a teenage girl. Finally getting some of that cutesy Mahouka humor we hadn’t seen for six years. Vampire serial murderers will put a damper on the mood, I’m sure.

Huh? I thought Shizuku was in Berkeley. Grand ballrooms aren’t that city’s thing unless she went to the Claremont in the Berkeley Hills. Oh. Shizuku charmed some playboy kid into giving her info about “something” coming through micro blackholes made by the nonexistent SSC in Texas.

Aw. Miyuki is happy that Tatsuya feels the emotions of wishing Leo hadn’t met with harm. Pinocchio is becoming a real boy! There’s that fun schmaltzy music again. Hee. Tatsuya has his own way of hiding embarrassment. No blushing from him, though.

Now that Angelina joined Tatsuya's harem, I can show her acting lovestruck and introspective in the Mahouka end credits.
