The three main languages of pro cycling, before English became the common language of the peloton, are French, Italian, and Spanish. Most fans are familiar with the French terms of cycling like the peloton or tête de la course, meaning the main group and head of the race, respectively. The Spaniards have their own terms for these common elements of bike racing like calling the front of the race "cabeza de carrera," or literally head of the race.
