The city of Lyon, the finishing town for the 14th stage of the 2020 Tour de France, was also the first finishing town in its history, as the first stage of the first Tour arrived here from Paris in 1903. Lyon also hosted a finish at the 100th anniversary in 2003 and again in its 100th edition in 2013. The first ever stage ending in Lyon, won by eventual overall winner Maurice Garin, was quite different than today's stage won by Søren Kragh Andersen. Stage 14 from Clermont-Ferrand to Lyon was 194 km, while the 1903 Stage 1 was more than twice the distance at 467 km.
