Kirito’s allies continue to struggle against Vassago and Miller’s forces in Underworld. The Rath staff on Ocean Turtle make hopeful progress.
Episode 17 – “Prince of Hell”
Meh.
I don’t care about PoH’s origin story in SAO. His name was only an acronym for Prince of Hell, what his mother called him for being an unintended lovechild. And even how he entered the original SAO to kill Japanese people for insane revenge made no sense. He stole a NerveGear helmet, lied down on a couch, and started up the game? After the news reports of people being stuck in the game, how would they let any new logins happen? Also, if he weren’t going to be able to get out, who would take care of his body in that single apartment? The planning is a mess. It’s clear we’re only seeing this stuff about Vassago because his character is going to bite it before the end of this arc.SAO wasted my time on another character I don’t care about. I watched that Ordinal Scale movie and I don’t remember anything about its plot. The only thing to remember about it is that Asuna had an uncensored bath scene! Anyway, Nautilus died, so he lost all his time and money on his character account. The beta players knew who the cyber idol Yuna was, but Vassago’s voice power was too much for them. Just like I thought, there would be no progress against the horde until someone eliminates Vassago. That looks like a job for Kirito Jesus, but SAO is going to make us wait two episodes for that satisfying scene. This is the difficult part of a SAO arc, where I get impatient for Kirito to do his thing.
Heh.
Yui notices connections from the old SAO server, but who’s coming over?
This scene with the horde and Vassago is so dumb. It’s borderline racist to call the Korean and Chinese beta players too dumb to recognize evil acts and only follow orders. Well, perhaps it’s a good cop for the mainland Chinese these days if they’re in the CCP.
Oh good. Somebody recognized this Eiji guy from Ordinal Scale because I would have no idea. Did he and Yuna come from the SAO server? What were they doing in there? Bah, whatever. Let’s get this scene over with. Ugh. Cliffhanger on Eiji cutting Vassago interrupted by Vassago’s terrible childhood and why he hates Japanese people. His Japanese biological father came to get his kidney for his legitimate son's transplant operation. See above for the rest of the meh storyline. What’s the point of making the horde fight amongst themselves? Lame.
Ouch. Sinon is having a rough time shooting it out with Miller. Their sniping skills are evenly matched. Oh yeah, Sinon is in a game where she can make bullets or whatever else with an Idea. She doesn’t need to run out of bullets. At the same time, Leafa is getting busted up by the horde who can’t kill her. Spear to the eye hurts, but she heals quick as that earth goddess.
Oh, come on. Kirito’s necklace saved Sinon again? At least that woke her up so she could blast Miller in a nonconventional way. Is this bullet blocking scene supposed to signify the part of Kirito in Sinon protecting her? Whoa, that hurt Miller, but not the flying manta ray he was standing on. He has his eye on the prize, though, and flies off after Alice once he saw Sinon was stuck on the ground.
Right. Yannai and Higa are in tense situation. And Yannai died when Rinko literally threw a wrench into his plans. It’s time for Kirito Jesus to Rise on the third day. Higa is brave. He made a move on Rinko after watching a man fall to his death. The girls’ souls are color coded.
Vassago is about to get it from Kirito, but first, he’ll need to reassemble himself, so we’ll have at least a half episode of Kirito’s internal struggle. Hoh. Even Eugeo’s soul from his sword is going to help. Neat.
