Kazuya and Chizuru discovered they were next-door neighbors, so Chizuru had to show him he couldn't bother her about girlfriend renting at her residence.
Chizuru, Ichinose IRL and Mizuhara as a Rent-a-Girlfriend, ran into Kazuya on campus and warned him not to talk to her. Then they discovered they lived next to each other at the same apartment building. How did they not realize this before?
Kazuya's grandma was so excited he had a girlfriend, she selfishly paid a visit asking him to bring his beautiful girlfriend over. Chizuru, overhearing the tough spot Kazuya was in, played Mizuhara for his sake and agreed to visit his grandma with him at the hospital once a week. Unfortunately for both of them, Kazuya still isn't over his girlfriend of only a month and he still fantasizes about Mami-chan.
In a bit of terrible bad luck and awful comedy writing, Kazuya and Mizuhara ran into his friends after visiting with Grandma. Kazuya, the spineless and gutless wonder, lied about getting a new girlfriend and had to drag Chizuru to their drinking party.
In even more bad luck and lazy writing, Mami the ex-girlfriend was at this drinking party and made a disgustingly jealous scene with Mizuhara about Kazuya. There's obviously something more to Mami's circumstances with breaking up with him, but I doubt we're going to find out what it is with her inviting a drunk Kazuya to her apartment.
